Conversations with Crop Circle Investigator David Kingston:Part I of 2 parts

I met David Kingston in the summer of 1997 when I was travelling through the UK with my son. He invited me to give a CE-5(Human Initiated Contact Event) talk in Southern England, and so we spent two days together. On short notice, he managed to get me an interview with a local BBC radio station. I had a chance to promote the evening lecture that he had organized. Some twenty-five people attended. I was impressed by the power of consciousness that the group demonstrated during the guided meditations that we did as part of the contact protocols.
During the two days we spent together, David told me several stories that I will never forget. One was about how as very young boy during WWII he had served as a guide for American servicemen who were stationed in England. Apparently even at the tender age of six or seven David was quite streetwise. He told me that on a regular basis he assisted off duty American soldiers by riding with them and preventing greedy taxicab drivers from overcharging. In an era when anti-American sentiments have increased, David genuinely liked Americans. I felt very much at home while staying with him and his wife Mary.
As far as I can recall, the first high strangeness occurrence that David described happened in the late 1980s or early 1990s. I wish I had been able to pin down the exact date when we chatted about it in 1997. David told me that one day he received a telephone call from stranger. This individual claimed to be touring France by car and wanted to visit with David to arrange an excursion to sacred sites in Southern England.
When the visitors arrived, they seemed very strange. Two attractive young couples drove up in brand-new very expensive European sports cars. According to David, the couples were dressed as if they were going to a fashion party. The men wore well-tailored outfits and the women had on elegant evening dresses. David told me that the women were extremely beautiful, but they appeared to have no knowledge of how to apply cosmetics. Their lipstick was smeared, and the eyebrow makeup had been misapplied. This detail seemed totally incongruous with the rest of their appearance that communicated wealth, intelligence and style.
One man did most of the talking. His accent was foreign. David said that he couldn’t peg it to one country or another. He just said that it was “European.” The strangest thing of all was that although this individual had clearly spelled out on the phone his interest in sacred sites, not one word was said about this theme. Instead, to David’s surprise, all they wanted to talk about was bilateral contacts between humans and extraterrestrials. When I asked David what kind of contacts, he replied that it sounded just like the human initiated contact program put forward several years later as the Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind Initiative. That subject was the very theme of my scheduled talk in Southern England.
Given their strange appearance and exotic topic of interest, I wondered whether they were human or not. After all, rumors of human appearing extraterrestrials among us have been part of UFO subculture’s lore since the time of Adamski in the 1950s. David didn’t really know who or what they were. He was genuinely perplexed by the experience. He told me that after an hour or so, these beautiful people got into their expensive cars and drove away. He said that he never saw or heard of them again.
Concerning the misapplied cosmetics in this case, I wonder whether such “errors” were actually deliberate. I am suggesting that such “mistakes” might be overt clues left behind to alert us that human appearing ETs are operating here on Earth. The bizarre nature of many of these face-to-face encounters seem to be designed to get our attention while at the same time confound us. They introduce a kind of comedy aspect to some contact experiences that are disarming, and perhaps even charming.
David Kingston died on February 19, 2009, after a year-long struggle with metastatic cancer. I will always remember his great dedication to the UFO truth cause his energy as an organizer, and his kindness as a host.
